We are working on getting rid of our diaper rash! So I was told to dry her butt with a hair dryer. Who would have thought she would love it as much as she did!

Six Weeks!
Can you believe that six weeks have flown by? I can't! Ava is changing every moment! It seems like everytime she opens her eyes from a nap she has changed again! She loves to play with her "kick and crawl" toy as well as her "surfing tummy time mat" this gives us a break from holding her. She loves to cuddle still. Ava's new found talent seems to be blowing out of her diapers she had gotten really good at it too. She is so talented that on mommy's second day back to work she covered dad in poop! When I got home they both needed a bath :) Days like that just make you simile and wonder who was incharge. Ava has decided that her crib is not where she wants to be ever. So the sleeping in her own room idea was short lived. She now likes to lay on the leather couch and she loves it when it's loud. This is great during the day but at 3 am mommy is tired and doesn't want to stay up and play. So our fingers are crossed that this too will be short lived. We are very excited for thanksgiving! This is going to be a great holiday with miss Ava here!

Family Picture

So today we went to Lisa Witte Photography and had some family pictures taken. Ava did well. She made so many faces that we had a hard time deciding what photo to use as our Christmas card. To keep you updated the little girl is up to 9lbs 7oz! She seems to be gaining a pound a week on the dot! Ava eats non-stop now so we are up to taking about 3 bottles of expressed milk a day to give mommy a break! We are now into size 1 diapers and are in 0-3 months clothes! Ava has her first case of diaper rash :( but it doesn't seem to bother her at all. We are getting more sleep, which is excellent because mommy has gone back to work! It wasn't hard going back but I sure did miss her! Grandma Laura had foot surgery so she has taken on the role of babysitting while she is off of work. This has made it easier to leave her knowing she is taken care of by such a good grandma.

The perfect Christmas gift
Since I am going to try and get out our family christmas cards out early this year I decided to get Ava's christmas photo's done. The mall and Santa picture didn't seem like a good idea for me. Waiting in a long line, praying for her to be awake for the photo and praying she didn't cry! Since I got a stocking with her name on it while I was pregnant I decided that putting her in it for a picture would be cute. The problem came when I tried to put her in it and she didn't fit! Miss Ava is bigger than I thought! But that is a good thing! Any ways I decided that her holding the stocking would be just as cute! So here it is my little girl in her Christmas outfit...it's big so that it will fit come Christmas!

Family Visit
So Miss Ava went to vist her great aunt Dee and her great uncle Larry (Katie's aunt and uncle on her dad's side). Ava seemed to love Larry from the moment he picked her up. She slept on his chest for almost the whole visit. So far Ava has met at least one person from all sides of the famiy. This Thanksgiving will be interesting as she has so many more people to meet. I think we need to get a photo book started for her to keep names straight! Ava is looking forward to meeting her 2nd cousins Selena and Rocky, her greatgrandma Elizabeth and of course greatgram!!

8lbs 7ounces!
I took Ava to our breastfeeding class that meets on thursdays, its my support group lol. Anyways they weigh her everytime there and it gives me proof that she is growing. And growing she is! We are up to 8lbs and 7oz! No wonder it seems like all I do is feed her...she's a growing girl. The last two days have been hard and Tony and I talked about puting her on formula because it seemed like she wasn't getting enough milk and that all I was doing was nursing her. Put seeing her putting on weight put our minds at ease and we will stick with breastfeeding as long as we can. Last night grandma Laura and I went shopping for 4 hours and the little miss slept the whole time, my question is why cann't she sleep that long at night? Oh well the fun of a little girl who love to cuddle and be held. We try each day to get Ava to keep her nuk in since she latley has been using me as her nuk. It's fine for now, but when I return to work I don't want whoever is watching her to have a hard time because all she wants is her mommy. Other than lack of sleep things are awesome!!! We love being parents!

4 weeks!
WOW! 4 weeks came and went fast! We are up to drinking 4 ounces now! I remember when she barley took 1 ounce! We are growing like a weed! Our newborn clothes are still fitting but not for long! We have started to fit into 0-3 months clothes now too! We are still in newborn diapers, we are on pack 6 of diapers if that tell you how fast we have been going through them. The little miss is a joy to be around we are trying to figure out her night schedule so that when mommy returns to work we are not all crabby from lack of sleep. With the holidays around the corner we have been out shopping and are debating on taking Ava to go see Santa or not! Anyways we are all healthy and happy so thank you for your prayers! I hear the princess waking up for a feeding so take care!

3 Weeks!
Today I voted! But that's not all we did, we went to our 3 week check up. We are up to 7lbs 8oz! We are growing like a weed! Ava is out of her preemie clothes!!!! We have graduated to newborn clothes and can wear newborn diapers as well! This is huge! With the 72 degree weather we have been outside alot and the fresh air has been great. We tried an ounce of formula the other day mixed with breastmilk, this however wasn't the best idea for Ava's tummy. She vomited it all over and spit up most of the day. So we will hold off on this for awhile longer. Ava still gets one bottle of breastmilk a day so that she gets used to it for my return to work. This is working out great still. Ava has been such a great baby she only seems to cry when she needs to eat or when she gets cold. She is staying awake longer during the days now and it gives us a chance to see her big bright eyes. Tony and I are so in love with our little girl, we truly are blessed!

Photo Shoot
So we decided that we wanted Ava to have some nice pictures done rather than just snap shots of her life. She did well at first, then she fell asleep and by the end she was mad. So we took what we could and I think the turned out great. Ava now takes one bottle of expressed milk which she does great with. The doctor said it's great because she has no problem switching back and forth. We are up to 7lbs 2oz now so we are growing like crazy! Nights are still every two hours but with getting a bottle daddy and grandma are able to take one feeding so that mommy can get a whole 4 hours of sleep in a row!!! Ava's hair seems to be taking a turn for the curls! Her eyes right now are a deep dark blue. She is enjoying the comfort of her swing right now and loves her silk blanket. She has found great joy in her thumbs as she sucks on them often. Our goals for now are to grow into our diapers so that we don't have any more oops through out clothes as mommy thinks a load of clothes a day for a newborn is alot.
